Hi all! A lot has happened in the last few weeks. First of all, I forgot to
mention in my last post, my sister had her baby girl! Alexis Marie was born on July 8
th and weighed 8 pounds. She is so dang cute and I can't wait to see her in person!

Tyson and I had our birthing class and that was an interesting experience. The videos actually made me a little more nervous than I was before I took the class. But we learned some good relaxation and breathing techniques, and also about the different pain medication options. Epidural please! We took a tour of the hospital and got to see the
nursery with all the newborn babies. I have an infant class tonight to help prepare me for life with a newborn since I have no clue what I'm in for. :)
I had my shower last weekend! My mom,
Sami, and Erica all flew in for the big event. It was so nice. We held it at Sugar House Park in one of the
pavilions. It was a bit toasty outside but nothing we couldn't handle. There was yummy food, and the guests got to decorate my belly caste (which actually turned out really cute!!). I
received some great gifts and little gobbler already has way more clothes than I do. The next day my mom took my shopping for the other things I needed and then her and Er helped me set the
nursery up. It looks so good! I think we are actually ready for a baby to come!
And now on to the medical stuff... last week I had an appointment and again mentioned the swelling in my feet. My doc took a look and was really surprised with how swollen they actually were. He asked me if I could get short term disability through my work and
recommended partial
bed rest. All for swollen feet? Well, he said it is a starting sign of
preclampsia and it shouldn't be taken too lightly. I'm not down with the whole bed rest thing, so I talked to my boss and they are giving me an extra hour each day to lay in the break room with my feet up. Because of the swelling I skipped the every two week visit and went straight to every week. They need to monitor my blood pressure more than usual. I had another appointment today, and blood pressure is still very low which is a great sign.
At my appointment next week they will be checking to see the baby's position and to see if I am
dilated at all. Exciting!!! And I promise to post more photos soon!
